The reflected ceiling plan for the library incorporates two distinctive grid ceiling systems from CSI Creative to enhance both visual character and acoustic comfort. On the main library floor, a bladed grid ceiling introduces subtle movement and rhythm, breaking up the stillness of the surrounding gypsum board ceiling. Troffer lights are strategically placed between the blades and recessed downlights provide general illumination throughout the space. In the children’s area, circular acoustic light panels and colorful pendants from LightArt in green, red, and blue are suspended at varying heights to create a playful and dynamic atmosphere. The reading booth area features a folded grid system that evokes the look of tree branches or stalks. Between these sculptural forms, Unika Vaev linear baffle blade acoustic lights are suspended to support both task lighting and sound control, completing a layered and engaging overhead design.

Reading Booths

The library was originally located in a second floor office suite at 1875 Lawrence Street in Denver, and the design began by removing most of the existing walls to create an open concept with clear sightlines across the entire floor. A custom circulation desk anchors the center of the space, designed with two functional sides: one welcoming visitors as they enter the library and the other serving as the information and checkout point toward the back. A floor to ceiling decorative tree rises between the two desks, with signage suspended on both sides to guide patrons through the space. In the children’s area, a built in bookshelf with circular reading nooks and window bench seating creates an inviting and imaginative place for young readers. The reading booth area features booth style seating divided by partitions, offering quieter communal zones for study, reflection, and connection.

The Park Co-op

Once a beloved tavern-style restaurant, the space has been reimagined by a woman owned business into a vibrant co-working community center for new parents. Featuring a fresh bohemian chic style with natural textures and cozy nooks, it offers parents a place to work, connect, and recharge. Members can drop their babies off at the daycare next door before joining cooking classes in the community kitchen, relaxing in the lounge, or taking a yoga class in the Life Balance Studio.

Living Room Lounge

This co op co working space was designed to function as both a productive workspace and a welcoming community hub. The co working area includes connected workstations, hightop tables with barstools, modular booth seating, and a private room pod that is fully ADA accessible, offering a variety of settings for focus, collaboration, and privacy. Adjacent to the work zone, the community kitchen serves as a lively gathering point with a cafe style seating area where guests can enjoy a snack, socialize, or participate in cooking classes held in the spacious kitchen.

The living room lounge brings a sense of home to the environment with a residential inspired design. Guests can watch TV from the modular sofa, relax in suspended egg chairs, or read quietly in a cozy lounger tucked into the corner. The Life Balance Studio expands the experience with a small fitness center featuring core backed resilient flooring suited for yoga, stretching, and light fitness sessions. This flexible studio can also serve as a meeting space and opens directly into the lounge by pulling back the nana doors, allowing the two areas to merge for events or larger gatherings. Together, these spaces create a holistic environment that supports work, community connection, and overall well being.
